Coffeebar: Pantai Indah Kapuk

Coffee will always own a special place in my heart and that's why I always love spending time finding the greatest coffee shops around Indonesia (especially: Jakarta) that come along with my standards.

A few days ago I went to this fresh coffee house in Pantai Indah Kapuk and I think I just fall in love again.

This place is located at the Rukan Crown Golf area, that will make it easier to be found because it's located at the same area as Ikkudo Ichi and Carnivor BBQ Specialist. It is not slightly eye catching but I love how they designed the coffee house to be very minimalist, but in the same time that's how a modern coffee shop should look like according to me.

Here are some photos to describe why I love this coffee house.

I would most likely not saying that I love something if I don't love the main star, in this case: THE COFFEE itself.

In my opinion, I think Coffeebar offers you selection of great coffees starting from the classic to their signature variation.

Iced Caramel Macchiato

IDR 32.000 (before tax)

Taste? Strong. I think this is a different way to have Iced Caramel Macchiato. If you're used to the brand 'x' which is so popular for its Caramel Macchiato, you'll find this stronger but maybe you'll end up loving or disliking it more, I see myself having no problem. I love coffees, what to say?? :). The caramel sauce and syrup they're using is also gorgeous. My judgement's based on how I taste the coffee's element one by one, let's just call it my habit, and I bet some of you also do the same thing instead of mixing everything together ;).

Iced Cappuccino

IDR 28.000

Decent. Enough said. Anyway the presentation is not common, I love their colors, sometimes you have your cappuccino already mixed when it's being served to you and this one is 'natural beauty' LOL.

Culinary Journal, 25 March - 31 March 2013.

Hello my dearly beloved readers, before I start exploitating the content of this post, I wanna greet you all the happiest new month, it's April for Christ's sake! Can't believe that it's been four months after millions of fireworks exploded and a lot of wasted amount of money...time flies!

What happens in months sure happen faster among the weeks, and here we are at another episode of Culinary Journal and thanks for everyone who has been reading the post since the episode one, looking forward to have the next episodes and on and on and on, we just simply never stop eating.

FYI, today is my first day of Internship, yes I'm on another Internship program, not entirely for the academic requirements of graduation (since I've finished my first term of Internship at HAI Magazine), but it's mostly me who wants to maximize the time that I'm having, sometimes we draw the lines of holiday and we just never stop learning each and every day in our life. One thing we should be very thankful of.

I'm writing this post at my new office, they have super fast internet connection, one of the perks of working at a publication office, and oh in case you're wondering, I'm currently interning at kompas.com for the next three months. I met nice people and looking forward to enlarge the friendship :).

Got invited by Marugame Ramen for a food tasting session and I'm so exicted about this one because I am honestly not a big fan of Udon and didn't expect Udon to taste that good! I blogged it already. Please have your pleasant reading HERE.

I was looking at the statistic and I think this restaurant is a new 'it' place, proving that I got my biggest hits in a day for this post, I got 1000+ hits on a single day! Thank you guys! and it's my most read blog post this week :).

Went to Serpong to meet my friends, I love Wednesdays! and I want to have my old moment eating Yoshinoya together, well I can find a closer outlet but I can't find the same friends :'). I love their friedd chicken! I think they have super yummy, crunchy and I bet a lot of people would agree on that, on top of that, don't forget their clear soup.

Went to MTA for a walk with my mom and sister, I found this cute Turkey Ice Cream booth at the Ground Floor (near the kids playground fair). I don't have any idea when this booth's ending I didn't manage to ask but you can check it out and actually taste this ice-cream for IDR 25k. It's actually good.

Comes in Vanilla, Chocolate and Strawberry Flavor. I had mine with chocolate and strawberry :).

Carnivor Barbeque Specialist, Pantai Indah Kapuk.

Another new restaurant is joining the Pantai Indah Kapuk food boulevard (as what I describe). Say hi to the barbeque specialist: CARNIVOR (located at the Rukan Crown Golf Blok D). Carnivor also has it's older 'sibling' located at Sunter Icon Food Point, with different slogan: "CARNIVOR The Meat Company". The exterior of this restaurant is really eye catching, with classy vintage decoration, lots of bricks, and hung lamps, reminds me of french restaurant of the 60s. You can see for yourself that they're really using the area of this restaurant to create a great dining experience along with such great ambience. It might look crowded inside, but it's just so comfortable, isn't it such a nice plus point for a restaurant to have a great decoration and great kitchen, it also makes you feel like a million dollar...more.

As you see for yourself, their slogan is "Barbeque Specialist", so you'll find a lot of grilled dish served here like: steaks, grilled chickens, happy platters package and lots more, we ordered three dish for the dinner, two main courses and one starter. What are they?

I just fell in love, this is so delicious even 6 pieces are not enough, craving for more as I'm writing. As I'm asking the kind servant, they say that they cook this dish twice, grilled and fried, no wonder why it's so crispy and yummy, you need to try this out for yourself, I'm running out of words.

Barbarinos Pizza (Pork meat, onion, mozarella, paprika and barbeque sauce)

Great deal and great price for pizza, the pork is also yummy!

Rib Eye Steak

I assume just by looking at the picture, you'll know how tender the meat is, it's just so juicy, they cook the perfect medium well, awesome french fries at the side dish and superb mushroom sauce! They also dressed this dish with salad and a little touch of vinegar to garnish :).

If you love sour drinks like I do, this will fit you, it has a high level of sourness but in the same time super fresh.

Ice Tea for IDR 10.000/pax

We spent around IDR 297.000 for three people and it's a nice price and three dishes pretty much equals to stomatch satisfaction last night. I will definitely keep coming back to this restaurant, this is very recommended guys :).

Ding Tea, Pantai Indah Kapuk

I've posted so many posts related to Pantai Indah Kapuk, but don't blame me because there indeed are a lot of great places to have your bubble drinks, your meal, beverages and desserts while chilling by yourself or with your loved ones, PIK actually reminds me of cafes in Clarke Quay or ones I watched in American Movies, Beverly Hills like.

If you're not aware with this brand, let me introduce you to one of the best bubble drink I've ever tasted, I think it's probably the newest one in PIK, Ding Tea!

As usual, let me take you to surf the venue.

Ding Tea is located in Pantai Indah Kapuk, to be exact, the Rukan Garden House Blok A, exactly across Ikkudo Ichi, you'see this this sign, brake your vehicles and sip.

INTERIORS

They don't have a large venue, enough for 20 maybe but there are seats in front for maybe another 16, but in general, Bubble Tea venues are not always big, it's because some costumers prefer to take away their drinks or if they choose to stay, it won't take so long, I find the venue to be pretty comfy, I always always check the toilets of wherever restaurants I'm visiting because I care about hygiene, and this one is also nice, but I don't always take pictures of the closet, what for.

I ordered the original bubble tea with oolong (black tea) as the main tea, that's how I judge the taste because I always stay with the original but somehow each and every bubble tea has their unique touch of the originals, either it's a little or a lot of differences, I will always stick with the originals first, then their specials..

and how do I respond?

YUMSTER! The word 'yumster' is like a signature word for this blog, use it a lot of times and sorry if it annoys you LOL. I feel like this is probably one of the best bubble milk teas that I've ever tasted, I LOVE the pearls they're sweet like maybe mixed with honey during the cooking process and the milk tea is light, the milk doesn't really take over the whole ideal milk tea (my personal taste), LOVE it!

Of course you need to try it guys :).

Trust me, you can hold my words, their bubble teas are so nice.
and oh yeah, there is also another drink purchased, it's the green tea milk with egg pudding, but sadly when I'm about to take the photos of it, my friend broke the cover and sip it about one third of it, doesn't look too good for photos anymore, sorry for that, but I gotta tell you it also tasted so good. Worth your time and money to try these.

I'm working on my research of the top 5 best bubble drinks I've ever tasted, I already listed almost 20 brands of bubble teas, I'm judging from the original bubble tea (yes, the good old classic) and to be honest, after I acknowledge this brand, I think I need to update my list.

Many of you have been leaving comments asking me how to take decent food pictures, maybe one day I'll make a blogpost related to your questions and I'll probably giving you a tutorial for it. Look guys! How much I love you all, I'm spoiling my dirty little secret hahaha!
