HOME MADE TREATS: DEADFUL TASTY CHOCOLATE

What's a day without a delicious home mad treats? I was craving for chocolate and I suddenly remembered that I have some Hershey's chocolates left from my latest Singapore trip. As what you see on the picture above is one of my sweet experiment. I don't take anything from the internet (recipes), as this is called an experiment, it might end up as a sweet treat or end up as a chaos :(.

I don't recommend this for anyone who doesn't like sweet stuffs as this is dangerously sweet and might be dangerously fattening, but that's probably the least of my care (weight) so I'm going to HAVE SOME SWEET MOMENTS to remember the sweet moments.

If you're wondering about the ingredients used for this experiment, here they are:
- a half of the whole bar of the Hershey's Harmony chocolate bar (192gr)
- 5 pcs of the Hershey Kisses milk chocolate
- 2 pcs of Hershey Kisses chocolate almond
- marshmallow (plain)
- one sachet of Cadbury hot chocolate drink

The most used and general mixture for this experiment is actually the chocolate garnish and dip, so let's start with it first.

CHOCOLATE GARNISH AND DIP:
- put the bars of the Hershey's Harmony chocolate bar, 3 pcs of Hershey Kisses milk chocolate and 1 pcs of Hershey Kisses chocolate almond into a bowl, or it could be anything that's microvable and heat-resistant.
put on the microwave for about 8-10 minutes in maximum heat.

Let's move on to the "Hot Chocolate and Marshmallows"
Level: easy
Approximate time of making: 8 minutes

The longest time taken for creating this actually waiting for the chocolate garnish on top of the marshmallows to melt, while you're preparing for this drink.
I'd like to mix the hot chocolate with the rest of the Hershey Kisses chocolates so that I'd have a fun chocolate taste. After you pour the boiling water to the glass, don't forget to stir, so that the Hershey Kisses could melt, and finally put four marshmallows to the hot chocolate drink and garnish it with nice and hot melted chocolate. This drink is totally my newest love.

I love when the marshmallows kinda melt and you can have some foamy texture and original vanilla taste from the marshmallow. Variant!

Baked Marshmallows with Chocolate Dip
Another fun experiment, this time I'm wondering what it's like to have marshmallow baked in the same time with the melted chocolate. I thought I was going to burn the marshmallows with the fire, but I thought isn't it hideous to burn something that came from the gas, I don't think it's healthy enough and you'll get those gas tasted marshmallow instead.

I kinda thought that the marshmallow's going to melt away, but I end up got a little happy surprise.

Look at how prettily baked the marshmallows are...wait until I try to dig the inside.
I love how it looks and tasted, at first when you put your spoon on the surface, it's absolutely crispy, but soon you'll have this foamy texture and cloud like appearance. I'm in love.

That's for my home made treats of EATandTREATS. Incase you're wondering why is the first picture is written 'part 2' on it, well if you follow my instagram, you'll know that I posted a picture of Starbucks Hot Chocolate with marshmallows.

DESSERT OF THE WEEK: NEW YORK CHEESE CAKE BY BAKERZIN

Sorry for hibernating in post, if you follow my Twitter and Facebook, you'll probably know that I've bene fighting with one of the most annoying times in everyone's university life. MID-TERM EXAM. I had sleepless days, some only got a few hours of sleep and in result, glimpse of tiredness. My exam finished on last Thursday and I already had myself a payback time of sleep yesterday, 15 hours of a wonderful sleep. Now I'm fully charged.

Don't worry, be happy!
It's FRIDAY and it's time for another series of DESSERT OF THE WEEK!
Wondering who'll be DOTW winner? clue... if you are a reader of my blog, it comes from the same place, but of course different menu!

got it?

no?

hahaha... I'm such a tease, here it goes!
It's from BAKERZIN! THE GOOD OLD "NEW YORK CHEESE CAKE".
Frankly speaking, I'm not a huge fan of any kind of cheese cake, it's just that I can't stand the smell and the super milky taste of this, but ever since I tried this gorgeous cheese cake, my perception changes and I need to update my interest, finally there's a cheese cake that's not ultra-cheesy, very well moisted texture and a great balance in sweetness.

You can call me overrated but I do feel a little nervous when I'm about to have a bite of it, I said to myself, well you've ordered it, take a chance...and I did, in a very satisfying way :).

The presentation itself is also cute and pretty. Love it.

You have to have a bite guys! This cheesecake and a cup of a hot jasmine tea or the classic english breakfast is an awesome mate to be.

Starbucks Menu Testing (SPONSORED)

SPONSORED POST

I am so happy that within one week of the release, the statistic is very good, but this is just the beginning and I still have a long way to go and a lot of works to do to make this blog your addiction LOL.

This is my very first sponsored post, and I am so happy that Starbucks SMS become the first sponsor for this entry of the blog. Initially, they want me to try two of their brand new menus: "Starbucks Sea Salt Caramel Mocha Frappuccino" and "Purple Yam Cake".

Purple Yam Cake
I was very surprised with the result just the moment I cut the cake and taste the lowest structure of the cake. There are layers of the yam cake, and the very bottom, there's a layer of nut + grated coconut. The texture of the cake itself is a soft and moist sponge cake, and to distance every sponge cake layer is whipped cream.

Incase you're wondering what is the toppest surface of the cake, it's actually a garnish of what the barista said 'yam powder', it doess't have any taste, I think it's just as the sweet garnish to add the point of the texture and the presentation. And if you see that tiny layer of what you might think as purple-colored-white-chocolate, well it's close, but again it's a yam layer, I couldn't feel any chocolate.

Back to my surprise, the moment the first cut of the cake was tasted, I totally LOVE it, why? because it tastes very indonesian, the nut and the grated coconut is also mixed with brown sugar, so when you taste it, you know it tastes so Indonesian thanks to the brown sugar, I like the fact that the cake is not very sweet, so the taste is very balanced, you get the sweetness somehow from the cake, the whipped cream and the nut, grated coconut and also the brown sugar.

So to make it even more convincing to myself, during the tasting, there's actually my friend who was sitting not far from me, I asked her to have a bite and her reaction was like: "this cake tastes Indonesian", she even said it (the lowest surface) tasted like kelepon cake syrup.

I love the presentation, and I don't mean to be subjective, but I am a fan or purple, it's a match tho :).

Sea Salt Caramel Mocha Frappuccino
This is the newest variant of Starbucks Frappuccino family and what makes this drink very special? it's the fact that sea salt is now used not only as a garnish, but also to make sure the flavor is unique.

...and how's the sea salt turns out? salt used in a drink? maybe most of you are wondering about this, but yes, I LOVE THE SEA SALT! It's not the common salt like ones used in the kitchen into your food, this salt is unique, it gives you 50% saltiness, 50% sweetness and the blending of the taste somehow works with the drink.

I'd like to give my POV of this beverage right when the whipped cream and the drink were not stirred. I thought it was a great combination for the whipped cream to be with the sea salt, I kinda crave for it again right by the moment I am writing this post now :9.

There's a zoomed image so you can see how the sea salt looks like, it looks like common sugar: transparent, glass like texture we're using at home, only the structure is various.

I started to drink my first sip and I was trying it without any stirring done to find the original taste of the drink, okay, it's a little too sweet and I definitely can smell and taste a huge ammount of hazelnut syrup used in this drink, then I decided to mix everything and I end up having a quite stable drink, but it's more likely a caramel hazelnut mocha drink, because even after mixing everything, the hazelnut still is the main flavour of the drink.

I asked the barista whether they put the sea salt in the drink and they say 'none', only as the garnish on the whipped cream. I honestly kinda expected that the sea salt would be used in the drink, it will be a fun experiment, but somehow maybe Starbucks made this decision more likely after experiments, and maybe it's the best, rite :).

I recommend you the cake and the drink, guys :). WORTH TRYING.

Thank you so much Starbucks Indonesia for the chance. I've always been a fan of yours for years and I think it will stay forever. Thank you Starbucks SMS as the venue of the testing.

Pretty Kitchenette Treats

Went for cakes hunting because I have been craving for them, I'm blogging about the pretty treats from Kitchenette Jakarta. Kithenette is probably one of my favourite restaurant for the design and the desserts. They have great great cakes and galettes <3.

As what you see from above, there are three cakes that we bought and try and had no regrets at the end. Why? simply because it's DELICIOUS!

So here are the main stars!

Red Velvet Cake In Jar
The cream cheese is not very cheesy, that's what I totally love about this cake, the cake is light, the texture is lovely and the presentation is super lovely. I kinda like this photo actually.

Oreo Chocolate Cupcake
Loving this one for some reasons: for the fact that the cream used is also oreo creme, but blends together with the chocolate cupcakes resulting something that doesn't taste very sweet, and for the fact that the texture of the cupcake itself is semi hard, so you can have that contrast from the flufiness of the cream and the hardness of the cupcake. Another reason is because the oreo biscuit is not solid, it's also fluffy and elastic :).

Red Velvet Cupcake
Hands down to the sexy velvet, this cake has always been my choice for every single visit, it's like the signature cupcakes from Kitchenette, worth to try, loving the cream cheese and the color is a very sexy red I'd say.

Kitchenette has always been a good deal. We pretty much had fun and the cakes can hold our hunger for about three hours before we went for another food hunting. For these three cupcakes, our bill was IDR 98.000.
