Tuck and Chug Pantai Indak Kapuk (PIK): Relax and Sip Some Drinks!

If you happen to miss my last post before this one, make sure you click on this link -> here, because this post I'm writing is another episode of that post. Let me give you a time to read the post. Starting from...now.

...done reading?

wait what? NOT YET?!

Okay, okay I'm going to retell the story for you because I love you all so much for always stopping by here.

So last Sunday and like any other weekend is best-friends quality time, talking about best-friends quality time, I'm going to share some things non-related to the place I'm giving review at...well my suggestion for you all if you still can go out as much as possible with your friends/loved ones, do maximize the usage of those times because you're going to miss it when you're in a state when it's hard to meet each other, when everyone's graduating and you're separating yourself and living the real independent life. (be right back I'm getting some tissues, I'm getting very emo what the heck) but that's actually just a little intermezzo for you to think about. Do love your friends but naturally you can feel the vibe of best-friend ship.

If you already click on the link above about the last post, on Sunday I went to Ikkudo Ichi Pantai Indah Kapuk to have my late lunch and initially we wanted to go straight to another place but suddenly PIK is drenched by the rain and we decided to stop by at this new place that often caught my eye whenever I go to PIK because I am loving their exterior and interior design, but haven't got the chance to go there, but now...

Ladies and Gentlemen, let me introduce you to... "Tuck and Chug". It is located beside Gastro Alley and still on the Rukan Crown Golf Blok D area.

I didn't have any meal here, it was around 5 PM and we're initially waiting for the rain to stop and it actually just rain harder and harder for the last one and a half hours, we had our pretty drinks and maybe you could also try it out if you happen to visit this gorgeous venue.

I honestly think that this is probably one of the best designed restaurant in Pantai Indah Kapuk. I just feel almost like home, another reason is maybe I was a little emo due to the rain, the cool breeze and the staff didn't turn the lights on so you can imagine how hollow mellow the situation was. Let me take you for a little tour.

If you walk into the restaurant, maybe the first thing that you're seeing is this ladder that delivers a way down to the basement, beside you'll see a wall with grafitti, but I'm not sure what the underground floor was and I skipped the thought of asking the servant because they were kinda busy.

We had a little so-what-if-we-call-it romantic drink and chatting session while waiting for the rain to stop and we actually pretend like we're in Bali, the situation was pretty convincing and pretty Bali-like.

Rika ordered Fruit Punch
IDR 30.000 (before tax)

Corina ordered this Apple Lime Lychee Mocktail, loving the presentation of this glass, almost looked like you're drinking alcohol when it's actually not included any alcohol, just a little soda. (IDR 28.000)

and I ordered this pretty Caramel Matcha Blend
IDR 35.000 (before tax)

Overall I think they really do give a nice looking presentation for their drinks, and they help me a lot for my photos. I personally wanna thank the drinks for being pretty, and also whoever made this, I wanna give you a very big hug.

I took some photos of Rika while we're waiting for our orders to come. Initally I have some of my other best friend photos, Corina, but she sneakily deleted the photos! grr.

Photos below are not edited, I just set the lighting for the camera and the color here is the natural light, we don't see any sunset but we got to be very chilled and relaxed.

I really recommend this place for you to simply have your light bites and drinks or even dinners, make sure when it's raining (and when we air is cool, sometimes it's raining but it tends to be very hot) you guys sit outside, or else sitting inside is also a great option.

Leaving you with a photo of an airplane.
"Can we pretend that airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars?"

Thank you for being so awesome T&C!

Ikkudo Ichi PIK: Ramenizer!

Don't you think it's a little too late for me to post this?

I had eaten here before, even when I haven't created this blog, but now that I finally have a media to share and review the food for you (who haven't got the chance to go here), so I guess better late than never.

This ramen house is very famous at Pantai Indah Kapuk, they have another outlet in Pesanggrahan, Puri Indah (west Jakarta) but I guess this outlet got much more attention and spotlight, thanks to the exterior and interior eyecatching design, to find this place is pretty easy, drive by at Rukan Crown Golf Blok D and go straight to the end of the food boulevard and you'll see a ramen house with giant ramen lightbox and lampions shining bright, that's Ikkudo Ichi.

I ordered their famous menus: Buta Kara Ramen, Tori Kara Ramen, Tori Ebi Gyoza and Japanese Beef Ebi Fried Rice and absolutely my ultimate choice of drink everytime I went to a Japanese restaurant: cold ocha!

I order my ramen with the curly noodle, I guess it's a little bit boring to have the normal noodle, don't get stuck on people's opinion, well sometimes you just gotta take a chance (okay this conversation is getting heavy and serious for a bowl of ramen).

Tori Ebi Gyoza
IDR 25.000 (before tax)
Deep fried gyoza with chicken and prawn meat. This is delicious and well seasoned, I think it's a perfect appetizer.

Buta Kara Ramen with straight noodles

IDR 45.800 (before tax)

Buta in japanese is PORK, so remember that this meat might against some people's belief, so it's not halal for them. I'm just saying and this doesn't mean anything, but for my personal taste, ramens are best with "Buta". Nomnom.

What's special and different from their original signature Buta Ramen is the KARA SAUCE, it's their special red sauce to spice the ramen up, it's not very spicy and definitely for people who love spicy flavor, they still  need to mix generous amount of chili oil. In my opinion, most ramens are famous for their thick soup (and they all have their own signature soup) so I guess to have a little spicy touch to your soup is a great idea so that you won't end up feeling sick of the whole thing for being too thick and almost too creamy...and yet again it all goes back to your own personal preference :).

I'm happy that they actually give their costumers option on some things:
- Soup: You can choose to have pork or chicken extract (but still don't want to assume it's 100% halal)
- Noodle firmness (soft - normal - hard)
- Noodle flavor strengh (weak - normal - strong)
- Noodle richness (light - normal - heavy)
- Noodle choices of straight (normal) or curly

Tori Kara Ramen
IDR 45.800 (before tax)

Tori in japanese is CHICKEN, I'm not saying that this is completely halal for some people because I am not sure about the ingredients they're using for soup and I didn't want to assume anything.

Basically the meat they're using is different, this one is chicken (tori) and the soup also tastes different, still, my personal favorite is the Buta Kara Ramen, but this one is totally not bad too :).

Japanese Beef Ebi Fried Rice
IDR 55.000 (before tax)
Hands down this is one of the best dish here, I once tried their Salmon but I prefer the beef after a current tasting, you can smell the signature Japanese fried rice, and in some case, I am not a big fan of traditional Japanese fried rice where they use sticky rice and thank you Ikkudo for not using that kind of rice because I would turn it down. If you happen to have issues like mine, do ask before you order, that's essential.

Maybe the only problem is the portion, I wish it was bigger, it was so delicious, yummy and smells really good.

I went here by two of my friends and together we spent around IDR 282.800 after tax and three glasses of Cold Ocha for IDR 9.000 each.

I leave with a very full belly and happy feelings!

This is undoubtedly one of the best place to fulfill your ramen cravings, if you ask me what to order here I'll definitely say: Buta Kara Ramen with the curly noodle, I find the curly noodle more of a fit for me.

Thank you for reading peeps :).

Detention Room PIK: Being Detained Has Never Been This Good!

I am such a lucky dude!

Won the quiz from Detention Room's Twitter and I was granted with voucher worth of IDR 50.000, they sent me the happy news via email! I don't wanna waste anymore time so on Tuesday I went there to redeem the voucher and had my dinner there. Detention Room is located at Pantai Indah Kapuk (yeah, no wonder PIK has evolved into the food boulevard, it's crazy how many restaurants betting their business there).

*blink eyes*

I want you to meet my bestie, Rika, we have been friends and closer than ever since Kindergarten and she is the one I trust so much aww so sweet *blood vomit*
Let's start this post and skip anymore intros, I want you to see their venue...so their concept is classroom and if you see a restaurant venue with giant yellow ruler outside, that's Detention Room. They provide interior and exterior venue depends on your preference, well the outside is certainly provided for the smokers and that's obviously not me, but since the weather was cool I tried to sit outside.

Loving the writings on the glass

Just look at those mouth watering chocolate liquid! Dayummmm!

To be honest this side's my favorite area, it's just so petite but lovely :).
One of the school material: CAN PENCILCASE! Reminds me of my elementary days, I always beg my parents for a can pensilcase, or ones with the front and back, or ones you can pull and very multifunctional, that's probably one of the best inventions after chilli powder.
Their menu, there's something about their logo that I love so much. Loving the fact that they used handwriting fonts as the logotype.

What did I order for my dinner? It's pretty huge portion for dinners and we start it "fancy" with the appetizers, the main course and the beverages, skipping the dessert because I was as full as hell. My beverage can also be considered "dessert" holy smooch!

I ordered their famous Fries Nation for appetizers, they have the most awesome and generous amount of fries. I and Rika agree on the curly fries as the kappow of all the fries. Inside you'll find regular steak fries, curly fries and wedges, they're well-seasoned and yummy.

Fries Nation
IDR 35k (before tax)
very very mouth watering. I want to have this again!

For main course I ordered their Fettucine Alfredo with Chicken Katsu. Giant portion! I recommend you to share it with your friend because the portion is pretty huge and if you're on diet, I don't recommend this to you. I kinda like the fettucine and the cream they're using for this dish, especially their chicken katsu, it's crispy and juicy!

Fettucine Alfredo with Chicken Katsu
IDR 38k (before tax)

For the beverages I chose the mouthwatering looking Cookies Crumble, it's made with milk chocolate, topped with cookies (I'm guessing it's Oreo) on top of the whipped cream. You can totally feel the chocolate and it's supposed to be! I've had enough with some drinks I ordered at certain restaurants which ends up tasting more like a plain milk with cocoa powder rather than real chocolate.

Cookies Crumble
IDR 34k (before tax)

FYI, they claimed they're using all real chocolate and I kinda went inside to see the chocolate bars and they did have it, the servant kindly told me that the chocolate are made from prime milk and honestly you can feel it, but if you have different taste for chocolate drinks from mine, then I have nothing to argue. I love this and I'm recommending it to you.

Close up of the juicy caramel sauce and cookies crumble.

Rika ordered the Iced Cappucinno. Don't get mistaken for their plain look because this cappuccino is sorta tasty, totally my standard for coffee drinks, it's simple but it's cappuccino how it should be.

Iced Cappucinno
IDR 27k (before tax)

Thank you Rika for this picture of me while we're waiting for our orders.

Together we spent around 137.000 but thanks to the IDR 50.000 voucher we end up paying less <3. For this amount of treats, I would pay IDR 137.000. Worths my money.

Big thanks for Detention Room for the great chocolate drink and for helping me sponsoring parts of this post!
