Better CHOCOlate Than Never Senopati

As another target of my online stalking routine, this chocolate dessert house has been on my list for quite some time and finally I got the chance to visit it! For those of you who were wondering if this has a thing or two to do with "Awfully Chocolate" (yes, the venue was previously Awfully Chocolate), then the answer's "NO". Better CHOCOlate Than Never Senopati has a different concept, different owner and it is a different brand. I got the information from the kind working staffs :). Thank you for that.

The venue was not spacial, the concept was very simple and it's majorly "decorated" with the yellow color from the branding itself and the packaging. The seating area's also simple, probably fits around 15 people inside. In a way, I kinda like the vibe of the simplicity and how not-so-crowded this place is.

For the main chocolate cakes, they only sell four variants: Classic Dark Chocolate Cake, Baby Black Forest Cake, Baby Hazelnut Fudge and Chocolate Layers Cake (but if you want this flavor, you need to order in two days before in advance), and they also have selections of Chocolate Cupcakes, Ice Creams, Cookies, Hot Beverages and Truffles! Those chocolate pleasures are made with premium chocolate ingredients without all those crappy additional inserted, so they're completely safe guilty pleasures :).

Classic Dark Chocolate
IDR 34k
Didn't order this one, just so you know how it looks :).

Baby Black Forest Cake
IDR 34k
When I ate a good cake, I almost became so stingy that I didn't want to share it with anybody, and that's the case with this goddamn freaking delicious cake! I know this might be so naive, but this one is to me, THE BEST BLACK FOREST CAKE I HAVE HAD IN MY LIFE...SO FAR! I love the presentation, texture, I love the flavor and I love every single thing about this cake. I love the Chocolate Ganache coating and inside, there's a very moist chocolate cake, the overall sweetness of this cake is fantastic. I didn't think it was "too sweet". It's just such a dreamy cake, you're too fool not having this, seriously. FYI the leaf is real and not edible.

Baby Hazelnut Fudge
IDR 34k
This cake might be just average on the presentation but don't get it wrong because it's in fact really really good. The structure of this cake's a little thicker (since it's brownie like), the chocolate flavor is rich with a little Hazelnut kick and the moisture of this cake is just impeccable. Should try this one too!

Cookies and Cream Ice Cream
IDR 28k
I am really fond of this ice cream, I think it's gorgeous, it has a great balance between the sweetness without taking away that signature "cookies and cream" flavor away. The texture is also nice, too bad I only ordered one scoop. I could probably eat the whole liter of it and having a happy diabetic.

White Chocolate Cupcake
IDR 28k
The cupcake is so moist and smooth, if the texture of this cupcake is a little fudgier (what the heck that means), thicker and fuller like a mud cake, I'll probably falling deeper for this one. Not a big fan of the White Chocolate cream on top for its milkish flavor (you know I'm not a big fan of milk), I am more of a dark chocolate type of person, but maybe for others this is good.

My visit to Better CHOCOlate Than Never Senopati was very impeccable, I would happily go back and order the same menu or order the whole cake just for myself and dig my face in hahaha. Okay it gets creepy, but seriously, this place guys, is so recommended. Everyone needs to suffer from a punch-drunk-chocolate love!

See ya on the next post! Ciao!!!

HOME MADE TREATS: DEADFUL TASTY CHOCOLATE

What's a day without a delicious home mad treats? I was craving for chocolate and I suddenly remembered that I have some Hershey's chocolates left from my latest Singapore trip. As what you see on the picture above is one of my sweet experiment. I don't take anything from the internet (recipes), as this is called an experiment, it might end up as a sweet treat or end up as a chaos :(.

I don't recommend this for anyone who doesn't like sweet stuffs as this is dangerously sweet and might be dangerously fattening, but that's probably the least of my care (weight) so I'm going to HAVE SOME SWEET MOMENTS to remember the sweet moments.

If you're wondering about the ingredients used for this experiment, here they are:
- a half of the whole bar of the Hershey's Harmony chocolate bar (192gr)
- 5 pcs of the Hershey Kisses milk chocolate
- 2 pcs of Hershey Kisses chocolate almond
- marshmallow (plain)
- one sachet of Cadbury hot chocolate drink

The most used and general mixture for this experiment is actually the chocolate garnish and dip, so let's start with it first.

CHOCOLATE GARNISH AND DIP:
- put the bars of the Hershey's Harmony chocolate bar, 3 pcs of Hershey Kisses milk chocolate and 1 pcs of Hershey Kisses chocolate almond into a bowl, or it could be anything that's microvable and heat-resistant.
put on the microwave for about 8-10 minutes in maximum heat.

Let's move on to the "Hot Chocolate and Marshmallows"
Level: easy
Approximate time of making: 8 minutes

The longest time taken for creating this actually waiting for the chocolate garnish on top of the marshmallows to melt, while you're preparing for this drink.
I'd like to mix the hot chocolate with the rest of the Hershey Kisses chocolates so that I'd have a fun chocolate taste. After you pour the boiling water to the glass, don't forget to stir, so that the Hershey Kisses could melt, and finally put four marshmallows to the hot chocolate drink and garnish it with nice and hot melted chocolate. This drink is totally my newest love.

I love when the marshmallows kinda melt and you can have some foamy texture and original vanilla taste from the marshmallow. Variant!

Baked Marshmallows with Chocolate Dip
Another fun experiment, this time I'm wondering what it's like to have marshmallow baked in the same time with the melted chocolate. I thought I was going to burn the marshmallows with the fire, but I thought isn't it hideous to burn something that came from the gas, I don't think it's healthy enough and you'll get those gas tasted marshmallow instead.

I kinda thought that the marshmallow's going to melt away, but I end up got a little happy surprise.

Look at how prettily baked the marshmallows are...wait until I try to dig the inside.
I love how it looks and tasted, at first when you put your spoon on the surface, it's absolutely crispy, but soon you'll have this foamy texture and cloud like appearance. I'm in love.

That's for my home made treats of EATandTREATS. Incase you're wondering why is the first picture is written 'part 2' on it, well if you follow my instagram, you'll know that I posted a picture of Starbucks Hot Chocolate with marshmallows.

DESSERT OF THE WEEK: FORET NOIRE BY BAKERZIN!

I promised you guys that every Friday starting from this week, is the EATandTREATS: DESSERT OF THE WEEK day! so you'll have my chosen 'Dessert of The Week", it's going to be everything desserts, I'm so excited for this one because I love desserts and who doesn't?

The lucky number one! the first to be the DOTW
is...
FORET NOIRE from Bakerzin!
I LOVE THIS DESSERT!
Congratulation 'Foret Noire' from Bakerzin for becoming the first ever EATandTREATS: Dessert of The Week! I truly love this dessert based on the eating experience and I want to mention about a few points that I can speak out here. I have always loved balance in food, food and life, well you gotta have the balance in the taste, the texture and the presentation, especially since I am a graphic design student, I deal with design principles *coolface*.
I love the fact that this dish looks so sweet and pretty but it fortunately tastes not that sweet, the sweetness is okay and if you see the white cream in the picture, it's basically a whipped cream.

Don't you personally think this cake looks so pretty? I love the simple and efficient presentation, if you happen to know the common Foret Noire cakes, well this is almost the same, and maybe most of you think this looks like a common 'blackforrest cake', but it tastes a bit different, and only it's Bakerzin's style so they make it to look more unique and more of that signature style.

This is when the cake was being cut and I've always loved sharing the pictures of how a food looks when it's cut (no matter how they look), so I can totally give an even fairer judgements, just from this picture, I can even re-imagine how soft the chocolate cake was, it was indeed very delicious.
For the beverage, I order this Cafe Brulee. I really recommend this one for an amazing coffee tasting, if you never tried this one, basically when you hear something that rhymes with 'brulee', the presentation is almost always like this, the toppest surface which is the sugar is burnt, and it's totally bringing out the point because the crisp is the essential unique thing about this drink. I love the coffee, it tastes sort of light for me, I can feel a hit of caramel sauce used and a little cocoa powder mixed but overall the coffee and milk is still the main ingredients.
This beverage is very pretty looking.

Again, picture of when the burnt sugar is being broken, you can look at the foam, it looks awesome :).

There you have it, my first DESSERT OF THE WEEK! I hope you're happy with my chosen menu.

Pretty Kitchenette Treats

Went for cakes hunting because I have been craving for them, I'm blogging about the pretty treats from Kitchenette Jakarta. Kithenette is probably one of my favourite restaurant for the design and the desserts. They have great great cakes and galettes <3.

As what you see from above, there are three cakes that we bought and try and had no regrets at the end. Why? simply because it's DELICIOUS!

So here are the main stars!

Red Velvet Cake In Jar
The cream cheese is not very cheesy, that's what I totally love about this cake, the cake is light, the texture is lovely and the presentation is super lovely. I kinda like this photo actually.

Oreo Chocolate Cupcake
Loving this one for some reasons: for the fact that the cream used is also oreo creme, but blends together with the chocolate cupcakes resulting something that doesn't taste very sweet, and for the fact that the texture of the cupcake itself is semi hard, so you can have that contrast from the flufiness of the cream and the hardness of the cupcake. Another reason is because the oreo biscuit is not solid, it's also fluffy and elastic :).

Red Velvet Cupcake
Hands down to the sexy velvet, this cake has always been my choice for every single visit, it's like the signature cupcakes from Kitchenette, worth to try, loving the cream cheese and the color is a very sexy red I'd say.

Kitchenette has always been a good deal. We pretty much had fun and the cakes can hold our hunger for about three hours before we went for another food hunting. For these three cupcakes, our bill was IDR 98.000.
